Roar & Screw - Lion Thread Peg Board with Screw-On Nuts
A chunky 3D-printed lion-shaped thread peg board with threaded posts and a set of nuts that children screw on by hand. A real step up from regular peg play - the twisting action builds wrist rotation, finger strength and bilateral co-ordination, all of which feed into early pencil control.
Perfect for safari topics, ''Dear Zoo'' and ''We''re Going on a Lion Hunt'' story tables and language-rich threading play.
Why Little Hands Will Love It
- Screw-on nuts, not just push-in pegs: the twisting action engages both hands at once and builds finger strength.
- Bilateral co-ordination: one hand holds the post, the other twists the nut - brilliant pre-writing skills practice.
- Animal recognition and language: name the lion, copy the sound, build vocabulary as you play.
- Topic-linked learning: supports safari, African animals, habitats and emotions planning in EYFS settings.
What's In the Box
- 1 x 3D-printed lion thread peg board
- Set of 3D-printed nuts to screw onto the threaded posts (colour mix)
How to play: children pick up a nut, line it up with a threaded post on the board, and twist to screw it on. Once filled, they unscrew them all and start again. Pair with pom-poms or beads for the unscrewed posts for extra sensory play.
Eco-Friendly Material: printed in PLA, a plant-based bioplastic, in a home studio in the UK.
Care Instructions: wipe clean with a damp cloth. Not dishwasher-safe. Store away from direct heat and sunlight.
Safety Note: suitable for children aged 3+. Always use under adult supervision. Contains small parts (nuts) - not suitable for children under 3 due to choking hazard.
Please Note: colours may vary slightly from images due to filament batches. Each item is 3D printed to order, so small layer lines and minor imperfections are part of the handmade character.
